Fire and Thorns series

A smart princess who struggles with her weight and self-worth, as well as the pressure of having a magical godstone in her bellybutton.  I found Elisa a little hard to gel with at first (but I mean, she doesn’t even like herself), but as she develops outside herself and grows beyond her self-absorbed teenage self, I am TOTALLY on board.  She travels, she deals with threats, she must make decisions that affect many people’s lives.  I really liked that many of the characters were generally quite ambiguous, in terms of if their motivations were good or bad.  I was late to the party on this series, but man, what a party it is!
